He has 20 years of teaching experience in Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Medical Laboratory Technology. His research interest ranges from environmental sciences, to cytogenetics, in silico drug designing, and rDNA technology. His research papers have been presented in many national and international symposia and he has published 24 research papers in well reputed journals. He is guiding M.Phil. and Ph.D. students for doing research in Zoology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. I have always had the most recent edition close to my desk and have used it as an initial reference when I have needed to review a topic. I will continue to use this edition in the same manner. Plastic surgeons at all stages in their careers can benefit from this book. The coverage of plastic surgery topics remains encyclopedic, and all of the authors are recognized experts in their subject areas. This edition demonstrates a number of differences from prior editions. The books themselves are slightly larger, and the majority of the artwork is in color, with a uniform style and is of high quality. This edition incorporates changes consistent with our digital age, while maintaining the excellent content that has been the hallmark of this book throughout the years."

The best plastic surgery book

The best Plastic Surgery textbook I have ever read till today. I read it in a library outside my country as this book is not available here in Bangladesh due to the price. However, it's my dream to have one but don't know how it could be. I have a photocopy version of previous 2nd edition from where I have learned my surgery and acquired knowledge. I was amazed seeing the new edition and read how much I can. Really it's a classic book of Plastic Surgery.

Taking the class with Soldworks 2015-2016. All the information is current enough. The book spells everything out pretty well if you are doing it on your own, with the only exception is the order in which tools and topics are brought up is kind of out of order. If you get stuck look multiple chapters ahead to find the answer.

ACE is one of the best nationally recognized organizations. The manual was very helpful when I was studying for my personal trainer certification. I would not have passed the test without it. ACE is widely recognized and it often the preferred certification for many employers.

This guide is excellent and has some very goo information if you are going to become a personal trainer. I'm using this book for my personal trainer class in college and couldn't be more satisfied with the book. Also the book for the most part was in excellent shape which makes me even more happy with the purchase.

A well worthwhile sequel

A Warrior's Knowledge, the second book of The Castes & the OutCastes by Davis Ashura, is a worthy follow-up to that unique original. It has all of the things I enjoyed most about A Warrior's Path: well-developed characters with depth and consistency, lavish descriptions of a truly unique new fantasy world (Arisa), action, discovery, and a well-developed magic system that doesn't overwhelm the story. This is not a stand-alone novel; it picks up where the first left off, and sets the stage for the third and final book; it even has references to the short-story collection Tales of Arisa as Easter eggs for fans of this author. This book didn't have as many plot twists as the first book, but there were some satisfying and some tantalizing revelations, and the story advanced at a good pace. I eagerly await the final volume, and I highly recommend this book along with the first in the series.

A warriors knowledge

This is written as well as book one. Waiting for book 3. I like the authors style and how he formed the culture. Similar to Indian culture. But honestly I wanted to strangle some of these characters do to their prejudice. It says something when an author can make you want to punch a written character. I'm laughing at myself, but it's true. Anyway I'm not one to ruin a story by telling you all the details. I can just say this was a refreshing, New world, well thought out and most enjoyable read.Thank you David

More Sleepless Nights!

This is another page turner by an author I'll be following in the future. The snapshots we get into the minds of the various characters, on both sides of this evolving story, elicit compassion even for (some of) the antagonists. This is a fun read, just like Ashura's first book, and like that one, I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys epic fantasy.

About the Author
Maurice Kelly had a public school education and subsequently matriculated before going into the armed forces, where he was staff on a troopship. He was initially employed in the aircraft industry as a development engineer, and was a member of a team involved in the making of the boundary layer system on the Blackburn Buccaneer NA-39 seaborne fighter; other projects included the manufacture of the first atomic bomb release mechanism that was made by hand, together with various items for the Blue Streak programs. In 1960, he went to sea as an engineering officer in the British Merchant Navy and the Royal Research Service, as well as the Marina Mercante de Republica de Panama, remaining in this capacity until 1979. Since leaving seafaring he has worked as an ISO9000 quality consultant and as a technical author. He has five published works on engineering subjects, and specializes in historical road transport.

Good book on an obscure subject

During the existence of the USSR the Party elite desperately needed a vehicle to drive about in, one which reflected the importance of the offices they held and which would allow them to move quickly amongst the proletariat. So, when the old Rolls Royces and other pre-Revolutionary vehicles began to wear out the Soviets began construction of their own limos. The designs were obviously influenced by American designs, especially after the 1950s. This should come as no surprise since American auto makers helped Soviet industry along in the 1920s and 1930s.

This book has some great illustrations and the information on the designs is pretty good, if somewhat disjointed at times. Heavy on data. Still, a good book on a rather obscure subject. If interested in cars, especially rare ones, you'll like this one.

Good content but poorly put together.

Contrary to my belief, I will start with the good news first. The history of USSR vehicles has always been a special topic. I grew up there, but when I was younger, I didn't have nearly as much interest. This book has a very good amount of illustrations and covers the soviet limousines development history well. Even though this book was first published in 2011, I was hoping that the author would have included more information about the last of the ZIL limos. Google image search for ZIL 4104 shows dozens of color images of various editions of the car, but this book only includes one color photo. However, there are too many errors in this book. As the other reader pointed out, the author erroneously refers to the Ford's River Rouge Complex in Detroit, MI located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ouch! Though the most difficult aspect of reading this book was the improper spelling and grammar in Russian and the transliterations. Being a native Russian speaker, those kind of things jump out immediately. Also, page 48 starts a new paragraph without a proper indentation and with the lower case letter. I quadruple checked to make sure I didn't miss anything. Additionally, on page 50, there is a letter "n" missing from Soviet Union.

This is a great companion book to the early 1900's Russian car book by Maurice A. Kelly. I was thrilled to find these books. It is difficult to find material covering this rare subject. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations are great and high quality with some really rare photos like the other companion book also. They try hard to make the rarest images as clear as possible and do a great job.

Terrific telling of a horrific murder

It's unfortunate that, so far, the only people that seem to be reading this book are ones who either knew--or are related to--the people involved (myself included). I say this is unfortunate because John Lawrence Reynolds has written a terrific narrative that deserves to be read by anyone with interest in the true crime genre. His relative closeness to the proceedings--his friend is Brett Rae's father and Reynolds was lucky in getting some of the relatives to help him out with the facts--makes for an engrossing insider's view of one of the worst scandals in East Tennessee's history. Mad Notions could be the best first-person true crime book since Ann Rule's The Stranger Beside Me.
Alicia Shayne Good was adopted into a life of affluence when her mother left a volatile relationship with Shayne's father and married local banker Brent Mills from Sevier County, Tennessee. Shayne Mills was popular, intelligent, beautiful (the winner of a Junior Miss competition), and had the best of everything. Soon, however, events (starting with the suspicious death of Mills) conspired to take away Shayne's privilege, beginning her downward spiral. Poor Kelly Lovera, it seems, simply got in her way. A smart small-town boy who was making good, Kelly had just become a lecturer at the local Pellissippi College in Knoxville when Shayne began plotting his death. But she couldn't do it alone, so she began attempting to manipulate her many lovers into assisting her. Unfortunately for Brett Rae, he was in love with Shayne and would do anything she asked.
And so November, 1994, found Kelly Lovera dead in his black Jeep on the side of an embankment. What happened exactly is unknown, due to the conflicting reports of those involved, but Reynolds paints a clear portrait of the before and after, while also showing the effects of how a brutal murder in this small town community was not that odd an occurrence, given the area's history of cover-ups. It's not hard to begin making judgments on behavior after the fact--and to sympathize with those we consider unjustly wronged--but one must remember that this is all after Reynolds has done all the work for us. 20/20 hindsight.
Reynolds uses his award-winning mystery-writing skills (he has won two Arthur Ellis Awards for his books The Man Who Murdered God and Gypsy Sins) to present the events occurring in Mad Notions in a logical progression that ties everything together, presenting it in an easily understandable progression that leads to great reading. He displays remarkable restraint and doesn't go for the obvious sensationalist tack that often tarnishes otherwise good writing in this genre. There is a fascinating story here that doesn't need any assistance and Reynolds lets its own fast-paced, suspenseful nature take the fore. His first-person narration makes the reading that much more immediate, and his use of language makes for vivid description of the parties involved and of the Great Smoky Mountains setting. Even upon finishing the first reading, the reader will believe that he or she has actually met these people, and the irony is not lost on Reynolds that such heinous happenings went on in such beautiful country. Mad Notions is destined to be one of those books that gets unreserved recommendations from stranger to stranger.

Mad Notions: A true tale of Murder & Mahem

I received the book and read it in one day. The book was well researched and acurate but for only a couple of indescrepencies that did not effect the outcome. The author described the victim very well considering he never met him. I should know, the victim is my stepson whom I love and miss dearly. I read the book with tears in my eyes as I relived the hellish account of the murder and trial we went through. I could see each character and events vividly in my mind. Now when our friends ask many questions that arise, we simply tell them to read the book for all the answers. The reality of it is shocking to our family, friends, us and especially the greatest victims of all-our grandchildren. The first murder in Sevierville, Tenn. in 33 years. Hopefully the last - anywhere!!

One of the best true crime stories I have read

I live in Indiana but own a home in Gatlinburg. I have been a regular visitor for more than 40 years to Sevier County. I am an avid true crime reader and so I picked this book up at a bookstore in Sevier County while I was there last year. It was a great read. I finished the book before I left to go back to Indiana, so it was hard to put down. Kudos to the author for writing this book, telling an important story, and giving some insight to the "back-door" history of Sevier County. I learned a lot!

This textbook combines an exploration of the ARM architecture with an examination of the facilities offered by the Linux operating system to explain how various features of program design can influence processor performance. It demonstrates methods by which a programmer can make changes to code without changing program semantics, but have a significant impact on code performance. About the Author
Jason D. Bakos is an associate professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Bakos’s research focuses on mapping data- and compute-intensive codes to high-performance, heterogeneous, reconfigurable, and embedded computer systems. His group works closely with FPGA-based computer manufacturers Convey Computer Corporation, GiDEL, and Annapolis Micro Systems, as well as GPU and DSP manufacturers NVIDIA, Texas Instruments, and Advantech. Dr. Bakos holds two patents, has published over 30 refereed publications in computer architecture and high performance computing, was a winner of the ACM/DAC student design contest in 2002 and 2004, and received the US National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award in 2009. He is currently serving as associate editor for ACM Transactions on Reconfigurable Technology and Systems.

Great book and great study!

I bought this book alongside a raspberry-pi 2 B in order to practice. The presentation is very clear and systematic. I bought the book because I write software for embedded systems (firmware), but do not have enough knowledge or experience about embedded systems. I showed it to a colleague (with vast experience in writing firmware) and he liked it a lot. The book is oriented towards ARM processors which are everywhere, and Raspberry Pi as a platform to try the code. Most embedded HW uses CPUs designed by ARM, making knowledge of programming for ARM very practical. The book covers several code optimizations, including writing in assembly, parallelizing the code using OpenMP (openmp is useful for non-ARM projects as well) and Neon. It does not matter if you are a young engineer or a seasoned one, This is the book for self study.
